Throw away that fear! Learn to swim and have fun.
I am the owner and an instructor at Swim School 4 All. I've been teaching for over twenty years. My undergraduate degree is in Special Education. I love working with adults and children and teaching them to be water safe. My family and I enjoy the outdoors and my Community!
My goal as a life long swimmer, is to have children and adults swim safely. To be confident in the water and most of all to have fun!
Children and adults of all abilities are welcome. We are all in this together!
I teach lessons at Park City Aquatic Center and Red Ledges.
Students will practice safely entering the water, jumping in the water and rolling to their back and floating, grasping the wall and how to safely climb out of the water using staircases, ladder and/or the wall.
*Drown proofing can save someones life, but must never be regarded as an alternative to normal safety precautions. Always ensure you are properly equipped and follow the correct procedures and guidelines for yourself and all involved for your water activity.
A relaxed, fun and positive setting for your little ones to safely explore and learn to navigate around the water in the comfort of your arms. We will practice water safety by going over drown proof skills and spending time focusing on having your baby begin controlling their breath underwater and beginning flutter kicks with arm pulls.
Beginner students will learn the foundations of swimming through songs and games! We will work on blowing bubbles, flutter kicking with a barbell, wall crawls, retrieving objects off of the stairs. jumping off the side and swimming back to the wall with assistance. Students will also learn how to safely climb out of the pool on their own and jumping in.
Students will build on their swim foundations and begin exploring the underwater world! We will work on submerging our whole head underwater and retrieving objects from the bottom stairs. Students will practice kicking with a barbell or kick board on their own and exploring what it feels like to kick with their eyes in the water. Students will really work on gaining and building their confidence in the water.
Students will be working on independent swimming with little to no assistance. At this level students should be confident in jumping into the pool and safely swimming to the side of the pool without any assistance from the teacher. Students will gain independence in front glide, front crawl with rolling to their back and back glide swimming. Students will also be introduced on how to use rotary breathing in freestyle and backstroke. Lastly, we will begin learning different techniques for treading water and building on their lung capacity.
In level 4, students will practice rotary breathing during freestyle and will strengthen their backstroke swimming skills. Students will be able to retrieve objects in depths of 4 feet and shallower without Assistance. Students are introduced to Breaststroke Swimming.
**Students should be water safe in this level and be able to swim and float on their back to the wall without ANY assistance!
Students will sharpen their freestyle, backstroke and breast stroke techniques through practice and drills. Students will be introduced to the butterfly Stroke. Students will be comfortable in any depth of water and will be able to retrieve an object anywhere in the lap pool and tread water for 5-10 seconds without any assistance.
This class is for students who need to hone on all their stroke techniques while building their strength and endurance. We will swim full laps of breaststroke, freestyle and backstroke and students will tread water for 30 seconds.
Students must be at a Level 6 or higher.
Students will work on building their endurance and strength in each stroke in and out of the water. Some classes may include dry land activities (no gym shoes required). Students will focus on building on their speed, lung capacity and endurance with all four competitive strokes.
